Plas Newydd, an outstanding period country house dating back to the 18th century, has an outdoor heated swimming pool and a natural stream flowing through the one-acre garden. In fact, the very private gardens are a particular feature, having a host of specimen trees, flowering plants and shrubs, and a pretty stream meandering through the grounds.

The house enjoys a secluded position accessed by a very quiet lane - so quiet that it is possible to stay several days without seeing a car pass by.

The property has many of its original features which add to the atmosphere of this lovely period home: with double glazing and central heating the house is warm and welcoming throughout the year.

The swimming pool lies to the rear of the house and measures 36 feet from the Roman end with steps 16 feet wide; the shallowest point is 3 feet deep, and the deepest is 7 feet 6 inches. There is a swimming pool changing room with hand basin and toilet, and a sun-bathing area surrounds the pool.

The Lleyn Peninsula (the Lleyn) is one of Wales's finest beauty spots, and is usually defined as the strip of land south-west of the A487 that runs from Caernarfon to Porthmadog. For most of its length it is only 8 miles wide, and much of the coastline is maintained by the National Trust. The Welsh name for this area is Pen Llưn.

The Lleyn offers a lot of activities; apart from numerous established walks, there are many beaches, some of which are easy to access (Whistling Sands) and some of which require a half mile walk - these beaches are among the finest in the UK. For the wildlife enthusiast, there are many things to see: sea-lions, chough (Bardsey Island) and many bird species. Sailing, surfing (Devil's Mouth), fishing and diving are also popular in the area, and sailing events take place all summer at Abersoch, including many National Championships. After all that activity, there is a variety of places to spend the evening, ranging from quiet pubs to top quality restaurants.

The Snowdonia National Park is half an hour away, with all the outdoor possibilities for the mountain enthusiast. Abersoch is a 10-15 minute drive (or taxi ride) for those who enjoy the hurley-burley of a seaside village: it has several pubs, boutique shops, excellent restaurants, and a very popular beach. Aberdaron is a 5-minute drive, and boasts a post office, shop, two hotels and another very popular beach.

All in all this is a fabulous holiday house for all the family and is set to become one of our most popular letting homes.
